Obituary for Denny Coleman

Denny Ferl Coleman, age 73, of Richlands, VA passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 following a long illness. He was born at Prater, VA in Buchanan County on November 11, 1944 to Willie Dennis Coleman and Ruby Lee Childress Coleman Street.

Denny spent most of his working years at United Coal Company of Grundy, VA as a foreman in the mine maintenance department and also as a supervisor for Little River Pipeline, Keen Mountain, VA

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Douglas Coleman and Billy Wayne Coleman, his step-father Roy J. Street, his step-mothers Martha Buchanan Coleman and Arva Conner Coleman, a step-brother, Edward Conner, a niece Tracy Hagy Sprinkle and a great nephew, Michael Gilmer Hyatt.

Denny is survived by his wife of 49 years and 7 months Donna Faye Brown Coleman and one daughter, Andrea Lynn Coleman Clark and husband Jeffrey Dale of Salem, VA two granddaughters whom he dearly loved, Jenna Danielle Clark and Allison Layne Clark both of Salem, VA.
Also surviving , his mother, Ruby Lee Childress Coleman Street of Rosedale, VA, His father Willie Dennis Coleman of Floyd, VA, two brothers Johnny Michael Street and wife Betty of Pounding Mill, VA, Randal Street and wife Gail of Pounding Mill, VA one sister, Virginia Coleman Conner of Glade Hill, VA, two sisters-in law Susan Coleman of Vansant, VA and Deborah Coleman of Palatka, FL, a step brother, Charles Conner and wife Beulah of Floyd, VA, a step sister, Joyce Conner of Floyd, VA, a step sister in law Shirley Conner of Martinsville, VA and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 1:30 P.M. at the Gethsemane Baptist Church, 2902 Clinch Street, Richlands, VA with Rev. Keith Griffin and Elder Brian Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA. Casey Shortt VFW Post 9640 will conduct Military Graveside Rites. Pallbearers will be Bill Cook, Danny Clevinger, Carlton Gobble, Phillip Mohon, Douglas Coleman, Scott Forrester and Sammy Conner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank Sturgill, Randy Bostic and Lee Roy Davis. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Saturday at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA.
