Obituary for Doris Faye Owens

Doris Faye Owens loving wife, mother, and grandmother, age 68, of Richlands, VA passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at her home. She was born August 27, 1950 in Lebanon, VA. She was a member of the First Christian Church at Richlands since 2002 and was baptized on February 17, 2002. Doris loved her grandbabies. She enjoyed church activities and was the treasurer of the Philathian Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Ila Taylor Fields; one brother, Jugy Fields.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 33 years, Kem Owens; one daughter, Amanda VanDyke of Richlands, VA; one son, Timothy Owens and wife Heidi of Richlands, VA; four grandchildren, Hannah Owens, Brasley Owens, Logan VanDyke, and Blake VanDyke; one sister, Shelby Bell of Bristol, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends after 11 a.m. Friday at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 noon Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Nick Koontz officiating. A committal service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Holston Valley Baptist Memorial Cemetery in Abingdon, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
