Obituary for Lew Roy Lester

Mr. Lew Roy Lester, age 77, of the Wardell section of Cedar Bluff, VA passed way Friday January 19, 2018 in a Richlands, VA hospital following a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, VA he was the son to the late James & Emily Black Lester. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Tommy Lester, Randy Lester and Gary Charles Lester and two sisters Bertha Hale and Gladys Arnold.

Lew was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and a retired Electrician with Jewell Smokeless. He enjoyed Football, NASCAR and his Grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Mary Lester; three children Melissa Yahner & husband Dennis of Altoona, PA, Marcus Lester & wife Donnena of Cedar Bluff, VA and Jason Lester & wife Mitzi of Bethlehem, NC; 7 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren; three sisters Oretha (Pete) Browning & husband Kenny of VA, Kathleen Gillespie & husband Junior of FL and Betty Jo Hockenberry & husband Dennis of FL; one brother Jerry Lester of MI and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends after 3:00 P.M. Tuesday Jan. 23, 2018 at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA with funeral services at 4:00 P.M. with Rev. Rick Whitt officiating. Online condolences may be sent by going to www.SingletonFuneralService.com
